Dollop Gourmet Ultimate Dude Frosting

Are you a Food Network watcher? Did you watch cupcake wars? Is the name, Dollop, familiar yet? Heather Shaffer from Dollop Gourmet Cupcake Creations was a winner on that show.

Dollop is in the Rochester, N.Y.  area. It features a cupcake bar that offers you a nearly endless variety of cupcake combinations. They also create cupcakes for special occasions.

They also created their own line of frosting. Made from buttercream, the frosting spread is the perfect accompaniment to any snack food, from apples, pretzels, graham crackers, cupcakes, to bacon. MY OPINION:
I watch the Food Network all the time, so when approached by Heather to review, I was excited and honored. I still am too. So thank you Heather.

I got two packages of Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Frosting.

I decided to make cupcakes, since they are a household favorite... and I'll be honest, I was nervous to step outside the box with cookies or something else, and that was stupid, but that will come in a minute.....
Anyway, I made cupcakes...

Now what I think is the only downside, and please Heather don't shoot me, is the term "spread". Dollop made much more sense to me after using the frosting "spread". I actually ruined two cupcakes trying to spread it, and two packages, if spread, would not have been enough frosting for one dozen. With that said, I mentioned I preferred the term Dollop, which is also it's name... and that's what I found it to be, a dollop frosting. It's more of a decorating frosting than a spreadable one. Here is how mine turned out, dolloped.

I know it looks like not much frosting, but this frosting packs a punch. That tiny bit went a long way, and the flavor was very good and right on the money! I can definitely see why this lady won. She is not only inventive, creative, smart, but has a wicked sense for trying something new. I can't wait to try some of this stuff on cookies. I'm not ready to go for bacon, but am willing to step out of the box now!
