Hi everybody!
I thought for sure I would be swimming up to the mountain like a logger this morning. They had been saying, worst case scenario, of course, that a 50 foot swell could come ashore.
It didn't happen.
Thank God.
Then again, I'm like wow, all that destruction, a woman dead an hour away from flying debris, and not even a limb down in my neighborhood......
We saw tornadoes blow through here that were scarier.
Yet, I'm thankful, but I sit back and wonder why all the hype to get everyone going when there really wasn't a significant danger here?! I stocked and stressed, listening to the professionals tell us to take it serious... and for what?! A what if, that's what.
While I'm glad we only had this all day:
I'm disappointed in the local media for all the hype.
I'll continue praying for the US who definitely didn't come out unscathed. My heart and prayers are with the families of those lost. For the damage done and the hard times ahead.
May God give you patience and strength.

I'm glad to hear your immediate area was not seriously affected by Sandy. A lot of other places were not so lucky. I get upset at our weather professionals sometimes too but then they have to cover all the bases, Mother Nature is not all that predictable.
ReplyDeleteFreda, so glad you are safe & sound! <3
ReplyDeleteBetter to prepare for the worst, and pray for the best. We've got a close family friend living near Pt. Pleasant, NJ - thank God she is safe, but the destruction is pretty bad from what I've seen and heard. But here in Illinois, we're just cold & windy & crabby ,,, as usual lol
Hope you have a FANG-tastic Halloween :)
I used to get annoyed with the media hype over the weather, but now I look at it as they are talking to the worst case scenarios, like the families in NYC and NJ. Glad you're safe!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are okay.
