I've been reading Readers Digest my whole life. That's not really an understatement either... as soon as I could comprehend pictures and holding books, I had copies of Reader's Digest in my hands. It blossomed to me reading "the funnies", which are the sections like, Laughter is the Best Medicine, or All In A Days Work. These stories pulled me through every stage of my life. Keeping me highly entertained.
Now Readers Digest comes out with this book, Treasury of Joy and Inspiration, and it is a gem I tell you. It walks you through every emotion, empathy, love, humor, sadness, compassion and patience, and leaves you feel good not bad. That's how a great book is born and this book is great!
One of my favorite stories is so touching, I literally blubbered like a fool. It was about a love that was so pure, it was the stuff fairy tales are made of. Only this was someones' real life. It is a story that will stick with me every time I look at my hubby.

ReplyDeleteMy husband & I run a small ranch. One winter he was trying to charge the battery on the old tractor. He was parked beside the old pump house & would work, shut the lights off & go. Upon returning would be frustrated that the battery hadn't charged. We enjoyed a chuckle upon realizing that the light switch controlled the power to the outlet the cord to the battery charger was plugged into!

ReplyDeleteinspiring is watching your son after brain surgery relearn everythign adn teh amazing resiliance adn strength that kids have ..my son got sick and had brain sugery.. we spent 45 days in hospital with him .. the things we saw adn learned were life changing <3 so gretful to be one of the lucky families that got to go home with a happy healthy little boy who is completly 100% recvered and well
