Thank you!
Due to the poor turnout for this meme, I am considering ending it.
However, I don't give up easily, so I figure I'll set a goal, and in that goal try to get more to join.
I'm giving it 12 more weeks.
If I can't pique more interest by then, I'll be forced to give up or pass the torch.
You'll also notice some changes.
The Linky is for the whole month. You can add your links each week and still see the previous link(s).
Plus I am using themes. Each week a theme will be posted.
Use your interpretation of the word. It can vary in form and does not have to be exact.
THEME: JANUARY
NEXT WEEK'S THEME: COLD
The birds are gone, The ground is white,
The winds are wild, They chill and bite;
The ground is thick with slush and sleet,
And I barely feel my feet.

Every man should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first day of January let every man gird himself once more, with his face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past."
- Henry Ward Beecher

A warm January, a cold May. (Welsh Proverb)

The first poem is so funny, it describes winter perfectly. Thanks for hosting Freda.
ReplyDeleteHi Freda! I love the first poem, but hate cold feet! lol :) I wish it was cold here, but not likely as we are in the middle of a heatwave.
ReplyDeleteeeeek! Thanks for letting me know I had the wrong theme this week Freda!! I can be pretty daft sometimes lol :) I have reposted and updated my link with January as the theme this time!
Deletewhat Beecher said makes sense to me!
ReplyDeleteFreda, hope you can continue the meme. I did realize I have not posted quotes with the theme in mind these last two weeks.. but will do it from next week..
